I am what you would call a baby Christian. I have been a Christian for a little over a year now. I would like to share a bit of my testimony if you would like to continue reading. A little background information before I begin. I am married to my wonderful husband whom I have known for 5 years now. We have been married a little over 9 months. My husband has 3 children; ages 18, 17, and 15. The oldest, a girl, lives with her mom in Phoenix. Second oldest, a boy, used to live with us here in Tucson, now lives with his mom in Phoenix. The youngest, also a boy, lives with us. About 2 and 1/2 years ago we found that the 2nd oldest boy had a pretty major drinking and drug problem. My husband and I were not Christians at this time. In fact we had no intentions of becoming Christians either. One of the things we were ordered by the court to do was to find him (2nd oldest boy) a drug and alcohol recovery program; AA, 12-step, NA, or a similar counseling program. We searched the typical AA locations and we were hitting a wall at every location. They were geared towards adults and not really appropriate for teenagers. We finally found a 12-step recovery program right down the street from our house at our local church, called The SOBER project. The SOBER Project is a bible- based 12-step recovery program. My husband and I both attended the meetings in support of him (2nd oldest). We also were going just to make sure that he would follow through with whatever he needed to do. To make a long story short, I attended the SOBER Project about 3 months before I actually started to apply the 12-steps to my own life. It wasn't until then that I started attending church regularly. It was February 2008 when I accepted that Jesus was my Lord and savior and I was baptized. Little did we know that my husband and I would've been saved as a result of his son's addiction. I now am actively involved in our church. I attend a bible study on Tuesday, a Wednesday night bible study, I teach Sunday school at childrens church on Sunday and also attend an afternoon bible study on Sunday as well. I have had profiles on MySpace and Facebook but it is totally awesome that I feel I can be myself on here. I never felt quite right in sharing my testimony on those sites. I am glad I am here. I love the Lord with all my heart and I hope that my testimony has been enjoyable for you to read. I am 27 and was born and raised in the Chicago land area. When I was 15 I moved to Washington State and shortly after September 11th, 2001 I moved to Phoenix Arizona. I moved to Tucson about 4 years ago and this is where I happily call my home.
