Hi: My name is Lydia and I am 49 years old and a divorced mother of 3. I have a 28 yr. old daughter, a 21 yr. old son, and a 13 yr old son. They are great kids and so far none of them have followed the path I took as a teenager into smoking, drugs or sexual promiscuity although each one of them have had their own personal issues with sin as we all do. When my youngest son was 3, I suffered 2 heart attacks in one week followed by a 4-bypass heart surgery, afterwhich my heart was so weak I had to be in a wheel chair most of the time so I could safely funtion. 8 months later I suffered a third heart attack caused by an infection that went to my heart. The doctors told me I was terminal at that time and only had about 3-7 years left to live. Because my heart surgery had compromised blood flow in my legs, and I am a severe diabetic, in 2005 I had to have my right leg amputated just below my knee. Although I had been raised in a Christian church and had attended Christian schools 1st through 12th grade, I had wandered far from the Lord in my adult life. I met a soft spoken pastor when my leg was amputated who over the next year ministered to me in such a way that God was able to show Himself to me in such a way that I started to understand my God-need, that place in one's heart that nothing can fill accept God Himself. I learned what it meant to die to self and began the process of living a life according to the Spirit's indwelling. I have been Healed many times because of being annointed with oil for healing. I wish I could write about each experience but that would fill a book. I'll have to write blogs instead. I am one child who has been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, who is putting God first in my life, striving to glorify His name in all I do, and by dieing to self daily, walking now with the Holy Spirit in the lead.I hope you will be blessed because of this story. May our Father always be lifted in Glory!
