As a native of Orange, NJ, and with a Masters degree in social work I have been afforded many opportunities to explore my passion in being a community activist and my love for people. In my living I strived to empower both children and women in particular to use their gifts from within to grow and to succeed. This experience led me to launching my own mentoring agency for children and adults called FHOCOS (Finding Help Optional and Creative Opportunities to Succeed). Presently I am also the co-owner of a counseling facility with two dynamic doctors (Elisabeth Achebe, Ph.D & Vivian Ijoma-Tamin, Ph.d) & Center of Hope.

I also love singing songs that encourage and inspire people. Through a friend I met producer Tim Shider younger brother of Gary Shider of P-Funk who also worked with the following: Alicia Keys, Tamia, Kenny Latimore, Cool & the Gang, Leela James, George Clinton, Amy Winhouse & Love Jones SDTK). As we began collaborating on songs the CD "Secret Place" evolved.

I consider myself blessed to have had other great contributors to this project through working with Tim Shider. Commissioner Gordon (6) time Grammy winner (Miss Education of Lauren Hill, Men in Black, Carlos Santana, Amy Winehouse). James Perry (Milton Biggam, Lou Rawls, Malaco Records), Hakiem Bell (son of Robert Cool Bell of Cool and the Gang) and Sheldon Goode (Pattie LaBelle, & Donnell Jones) to name a few.


So if you are even a little curious about the artist "Charmaine", then you will definitely want to hear the new CD "Secret Place". The CD allows the listener to share in life experiences through the songs. For a few minutes the CD takes you to my secret place and by the end of the CD you will want to find your own private place to commune with the father.
