Candle Hill started playing music in June of 2000 under the name of innerChange. Kenny Harrison and his brother Shane Harrison we're the founding members and the backbone of the group. They explored a variety of styles of Christian music and along the way evolved into something totally different. Kenny met Jennifer Turner at a youth revival and they started a steady relationship. He felt that God wanted her in the band and she joined alongside singing vocals. Her strong background in Southern Gospel brought something new to the table and they quickly blended their sound. Kenny married Jennifer and about a year later found himself in a dilemma. He felt the winds of change moving him in a different direction. He felt that innerChange had somewhat fell away from the mission that they once had to reach the lost through song. He consulted with his wife and brother to pray to see what God wanted them to do. Then it hit them that a total makeover was going to be the best thing for them. Their style had totally changed since the old innerChange days and they wanted to gear the band to a totally deeper message in their music. With the scripture from Matthew 5:14 which says "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden." Candle Hill was born. Their emphasis involves we as Christians to be that light. We should let our light shine so bright that those without that light would have no choice but to take notice. Our lives are a living testimony. They later recruited Andrew Bailey on guitar and Lucas Lambert on the drums. Candle Hill hopes to spread the good news through their music and help Christians engage themselves in a deeper level of worship.
