Hi, I started to play the diatonic button accordion in 1969 at the age of 69 at Joe Smiell's Button Box Camp in the High Sierras here in
Northern California. He does an excellent job of teaching in traditional music notation along with music theory, taught by Joe Jr.
I got hooked after the first camp and attended three more camps.
I'm now 81 yrs. old and still playing. I've been troubled by familial
tremors somewhat in my hands, but not to the extent that I can't
enjoy playing. I have a website on Youtube where you can view
some of my webcam uploaded videos, but have no file videos
of me yet.
After posting about 25 personal videos live from my webcam
I purchased a Canon ZR850 HD camera and started to tape
people in our Accordion Club of the Redwoods in Petaluma
and some of the Professional musicians in our club, with their
permission to upload on YouTube, etc.
I heard of GodTube on CNN two days ago (1/29/08) and scouted
it out and appreciate the opportunity to upload some of the music
I have. Hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions leave
a comment and I'll try my best to answer them.
Oh yes! we're located in the North Bay of San Francisco,
Our ACR meets on the third Monday of the month at Hermann
Sons Hall on Western Ave. in Petaluma, CA, about 35 miles
north of the Golden Gate Bridge, SF.
