Every year, the MGOCSM of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in America hosts a national leadership camp. Each year, the honor of hosting this camp is bestowed upon a different city of the nation. This leadership camp helps the students and youth of the nation's MGOCSM to grow as outstanding Christians.
The year 2011 is the 10 year anniversary of the D.M.V. (DC, MD, VA) area's first leadership camp that was held in Baltimore. The D.M.V. area consists of five churches including: St. Thomas Baltimore, St. Thomas Damascus, St. Thomas Greater Washington, St. Gregorios Greater Washington, and St. Mary's Northern VA.
A unique facet of the D.M.V. area is that 5 churches share students and youth across 2 states and 1 district. The theme of this years leadership camp is "Going Beyond Borders". Borders -- whether physical or metaphorical -- cannot and should not be an impediment to growth and fellowship as Christians.

A Prayer to Help You Comfort Others - Your Daily Prayer - April 25
Have you ever wondered if there is any purpose in your suffering? We certainly don’t go looking for suffering—it comes to us because life is a journey through difficulties and triumphs. Sufferings are a reminder of what Jesus Christ went through and it is a way for us to encourage others.
