My church has a tradition of taking the rising ninth graders on a mission trip to the town of Mars Hill. It's a small community and the in the poorest county in North Carolina. While we're there we travel to different rescue shelters, relief centers, and some people's houses to paint take out the trash and other odd jobs to make their lives a little bit easier for a week. It's a very eye-opening experience, as some people down there live in conditions you only think exist in TV programs, and third world countries or something like that. A we're interacting with these people, we try to show Christ's love as best we can, and a lot of them are unbelievers, so sometimes it tough being around them. It's also tough being with the youth group sometimes. There's clashing personalities, beliefs, and lifestyles. But it's all a learning experience, and I feel that with at least two of the guys that were there, who I really got closer to and got to know them better. Read More »

| About Me: | First of all, I am homeschooled. Homeschooling is the bomb. Even though it shows up misspelled by Spellcheck... it needs to get a life. Anyway, I take Tae Kwon Do from the company Tae Kwon Do America. I'm a 1st degree-senior black belt at Mr Davis' Tae Kwon Do school. I'm also an Instructor Trainee, so I spend a lot of time teaching kids how to fight... kind of... Well now that the advertisements are out of the way, hmmm.... What else is there about me? well, I make LEGO animations using stop-action photography. That is frame by frame, picture by picture. I like to read. I don't really have a favorite author, I just read whatever my mom checks out of the library. yeah... thanks for letting me waste your time... |
