Ooops, wrong name. :)

Posted on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 08:07PM.

I went to see the new movie "Expelled" on Sunday night with my friends. (And I highly recommend it.) Before we saw it, we climbed into a van to go get something to eat. As we were talking, the topic of a particular athiest and evolutionist came up. I told my friends that when I first heard his name, I thought he was the guy that used to host "Family Fued." Some of my friends started laughing, and one said, "That's Richard Dawson not Richard Dawkins." "Oh," I responded; "Then I guess he wasn't the guy on "Hogan's Heros."" (We had a good laugh and enjoyable time.) I'm very thankful for my friends. They are good friends and I love them. :)

Moth Christian

Posted on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 04:07AM.

On this hot night, as I started to smell neighboring chimney smoke, I decided to go over and close the dinning room window. I spotted at least two moths flapping themselves into the screen...(because the light was on in the room). As I drew the makeshift curtain along its string to block the outside, I thought, or rather I think the Lord gave me this thought: I was thinking in the mind of the moths for a moment as they were flailing into the last part of the screen, still exposing light from the inside, "Wait; No, we want to come to the light...we really want to come to the light...nothing else matters...I want to come through this screen and come to the light!" I thought, "Man, I should be like these little moths, with Jesus; to be ever drawn to His light; He is the light (of the world). Nothing else should matter in my life...I want to be drawn to Jesus; to be closest to Him. I don't want to be behind some wall, or shut out in the dark, NO, I WANT TO BE WHERE THE LIGHT IS; I WANT TO BE IN JESUS' LIGHT!" Then I got a second thought a little bit later: I know how moths like to eat fabric. What if I crave God's word like that, and I feed on it constantly...(pardon this pun that I just got right now)...but I can be Holy, but not in the same way a t-shirt is made hole-y by a moth eating it, but seriously, if I feed on God's holy word daily, with such intensity and desire as that moth wants to devouer my piece of clothing, I could have some serious spiritual nurishment and growth.
I think looking at God's creature the moth is a neat example of how I want to live my walk with God; always drawn to and within His holy light, and feeding on His holy word with such feverish intensity and desire that I want to grow closer to Him and learn more about Him and His son Jesus, and how I am to live my life by His strength.

"I love you Lord. Thank you for this example. Help me to remain in the closest fellowship with you, ever obedient. Amen."

PS Follow the Moth's example and be in the presence of the "Light;" but don't be drawn to the flame. Agapo. :)

It's God's Ability; (not mine).

Posted on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 01:52PM.

"And Jesus looking upon them, saith, "With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible."" (Mark 10:27 KJV)

I read this verse on my calender this morning. It helps me with self dicipline. I know there are things that I could so eaisly do, but to not do them can be a choice; but then it is a struggle on my part. When I rest on the promise of this verse and trust in Jesus, He is the one who can do what I sometimes can not do or may be weak to do. I can't go on choice, I need to go on dependency of God and His holy word. I need to trust in His promises, His facts,...only this way do I have the strength and ability sometimes to say, "Yes I can." And when I say, "Yes I can," I am not saying it is me doing something, nor am I meaning it is of my ability, but somehow in HIS divine way, HIS strength and ability is put in me to do or not do something. This gave me the ability today to do a good choice. I am still weak, But I believe and know that God can, and does, and is faithful abundantly to be my ability; and I trust in HIM, and HE lets what He wants to be done, be done.
Wow; this is such a refreshing and releasing truth.

"Thank you God. I love you. You are so sweet and faithful. Help me to keep my trust in you. I need your strength and abillity at all times. Please take control. I yield to you. I love you. Thank you God. I love you. You are my Lord. Amen."

Acts 6:4

Posted on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 08:18PM.

"I will continually give myself to prayer and to the ministry of the Word." Acts 6:4

Stay in God's holy word and in prayer daily. This will strengthen you and draw you closer to HIM. Also, faithful fellowship with other believers will help you grow in Christ too. Agapo in Jesus Christ, (the only LORD and Savior); Your God Tube friend and Bro in Christ, --Narnian-- :)
