   Essential, yes, in that it is, and should be the very first act of open obedience for the new Christian. Does Baptism save or is Baptism for remission of sins...no. Only the shedding of Christ's blood was for the remission of sin, and only the finished, once and for all work that the Lord did in His death and resurrection can save. Just keep in mind...nothing YOU do has ANYTHING to do with your salvation. If something YOU did could in some way earn you eternal life and reconciliation with God, then Christ's sacrifice was not enough. And it was. With much love, In Christ, Dave

When I was growing up I loved to roller skate. So did my best friend John. We both did. Loved to roller skate. But there was something in John that was different. He began to consider who was the better skater based on the number of times we fell down. Whoever fell the least was...the better skater. So in seeking to not fall, he limited where he would skate, and how far, how fast, ALL to keep from falling.

He considered himself the best skater among us. Became prideful of his NON-falling skating ability. Even to the point where he looked down on the kids that weren't as good a NON-faller as he was. Now he didn't do this outwardly. Outwardly he would warn the others that in order to not fall, they shouldn't skate so fast, or go on a particular street cause it was bumpy. When they WOULD fall, he would shake his head , and say "See you should have listened, then you wouldn't have fallen."

    We believe that heaven is a real place where the saved will dwell forever, and that hell is a literal place of torment where unbelievers will suffer forever.

    We believe that genuine believers are born again by the Holy Spirit of God, and are indwelt, baptized into the body of Christ, the true church, and sealed by the Holy Spirit, and thus, unable to be separated from the love of Jesus Christ.

    We believe that all believers need to be filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live a godly life and to be bold in our witness for the Lord.

    We believe in the spiritual unity of all genuine believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

    We believe that the nation of Israel has a special place in God's plan, and that all of the promises of God to Israel will be fulfilled.
