Hey ya'll!!
Wow, this week has been SO wonderful! At church, we had Dave Young, an evangelist, come to our church to preach a revival. It is so uplifting to see how God moves through lives and changes a person's heart. Last night, the Lord really spoke to my heart. Dave Young preached about "Intercessory Prayer". Before last night, I had never heard of such a thing. Normally when I would pray, I would make it quick. But with intercessory prayer, I learned to be specific with my prayers. For example, on Wednesday nights at church, I would say "Please Lord, help the missionaries". Yes, that's fine, but it's better to be specific. "Please Lord, help the Johnson family in Cambodia with their ministry for You. I pray that you keep them motivated for You, Lord and I pray they won't be discouraged." Something like that.....more specific!
I was never good with prayer, and I would always make it fast, but I learned that to have a good prayer life, we should 1. Have time, 2. Make a list, and 3. Be specific so there's no doubt God answered the prayer(don't be general)
The Lord spoke to my heart last night and said, "Kelli, I want you to talk to Me as if you believe I am really here. I want you to come to Me for anything you need." And I have decided to add "intercessory" prayer into my life.
Well, there are 2 more days of the revival left, and I can NOT wait to go to church tonight and hear more preaching! I wish we had revival every day! Amen?! The Lord is good!
Oh, BTW, the memory verse for the Revival this week is James 4:8(the verse on my profile :o) )
Love, your sister in Christ,
Kelli
Jesus laid it on my heart to share what was on my mind. I just wanted to share some Bible verses that always touch my heart when I read them. Well, there are many more verses than just in this list that are amazing, but I wanted to share some of my favorites with you ;o)
~John 15:12-14,17 ~ Prov 3:5-6
~Mark 12:30-31 ~ John 16:13
~1 John 4:16, 21 ~ 1 Peter 3:1-7
~James 1:5 ~ Hebrews 2:18
~Prov 16:3 ~ Romans 6:14
~Ps. 37:23 ~ 1 John 4:4
~Heb 13:4 ~
~1 Thess 4:13-18 ~ Matt. 24:27,29-31
~Mark 16:15 ~ Isaiah 26:3
~Deut. 31:6 ~ Romans 5:1
~Deut. 5:1,32,33 ~ Col. 3:20-24
~Rev. 3:2,15-16 ~ Rev 22:1-5
~Acts 4:33~
No matter the verse, there is always something that helps me get through a tough time. God's grace in times of need is so special. It's grace no one can ever give. He is such an amazing, all powerful God, and witout Him in my life, and without His Word, I wouldn't be the Christian I am today. He saved me from eternal death, He saved me from this world that I have to live in, He saved all of us. I am SO glad I live in a country where I can praise Him freely. I don't have to hide underground or in a basement, I am free to dress in my Sunday best and praise him whenever the doors are open. You know, sometimes I feel like us Christians living in America are taking our freedom to worhip Him, for granted. It's time for us to wake up and realize that we are FREE to spread the gospel to the lost. That is why God even created us. We were created to glorify Him and bring the lost sheep to our Shepherd. I love my brothers and sisters in Christ, and I think we need to do what we can for our Father in Heaven. ~Peace
Hey guys, just an update....
My family and I are still getting settled in the new house, but we DO(obviously) have the internet back up and running! Woohoo! lol Whew, I didn't know moving took SO much work. By the grace of God, no one has been injured...yet....Hhehehe. I looooove the country! Living in the city had it's advantages, but I definately like the fresh crisp air, the sound of the trains, and the bugs. JK, I dont like bugs...I like the other stuff, just not the bugs. The mosquitos ate my legs in ONE day...Hahahhaa gross
Well, I was reading in the book of James and it touched my heart so much. It was just basically about the law and God's grace. I recommend you read it sometime. I love the Lord SOOO much! I am still trying to get closer in my walk with Him, so if you could please pray for me, it would be such a blessing. OH, we also started attending a new chuch, and I am READY to jump in to the ministries! I had surrendered my life to Jesus many times(as a kid), but I have never felt so excited to serve Him no as an "adult"(18) lol
So, havn't heard from you in a bit, so tell me how ya'll are and what's new...
Love all of you as sisters and brothers in Christ! *hugs*
Man, I love Jesus! There is nothing sweeter than His name, amen? I just wanted to profess my love for Him. I have met so many people on here(GT) that have helped me with my walk with Christ, and I am so thankful for them. It is the best thing we can do for one another..........just to encourage and help eachother.
You probably dont know what it's like to be at church and not have the same feeling as you do here. I mean, there is just an onfire spirit here unlike in some churches. It's amazing how on fire I get everytime I talk to some of these people(and I dont get that at church). I just want to thank ya'll who do try to encourage everyone.
I love you guys, my sisters and brothers in Christ!
Love, Kelli
