Miracles; Fact or Fiction?

Posted on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 03:25PM.

There are a lot of people who DO NOT believe in miracles anymore. They say that miracles were for Bible times and those times are gone. I believe in miracles because I have seen miracles, not just one or two but dozens. Real miracles that you can see evidence of. Why don't I tell you about some recent ones.

A missionary man I know very well was just in Iquitos, Peru and he was asked to go to the hospital and pray for a girl who tried to commit suicide by drinking 5 bottles of rat poison. He went. Her throat was eaten out by the poison and she had been in a coma for three months. Her mother was by her bedside when he got there. Lying on the girls chest was a string of rosary beads. Catholicism is the predominant religion in Peru. We are working to change that though because as you know Catholicism is not Christianity.

Anyway she was lying there in an open public room for comatose patients and the hospitals there are nothing like the ones here in American. She was lying on a metal bed with a thin sheet covering her. He just laid his hands on her and prayed a simple prayer calling on the name of Jesus. When he was through he opened his eyes and looked down at her, she opened her eyes and looked up at him. Her mother ran screaming from the room. "Esta un Milagro, un milagro!"

The girl had just woken up after three months of being in a coma, the doctors did not expect her to live. The mother came back with some of the girls other relatives and they all talked excitedly in spanish around the girl.

The missionary man understanding very little of the language wandered off to the other side of the room where he came to the bed of a young man. The young man was hooked up to machines and so thin. The man was filled with compassion for this poor boy. He rested his hand on the young man and prayed for him. The young man's eyes opened and he started crying and trying to talk to the missionary. The man just smiled and tried in his broken spanish to tell the young man that it would be ok.

The missionary finally left the young man's bed and walked over to another bedside. Her a boy was lying in a fetal position on his side and soaked through his thin sheet was a mixture of blood and puss from bed sores where he had been lying for to long. The missionary found out later that the boy had been there for so long his family had given up on him and stopped visiting him. Touched by the sorry sight the missionary yet again laid his hands on a comatose patient and prayed in Jesus name with all faith. He turned and walked away from the bed side.

They sent word from the hospital the next day which was Sunday that all three patients had been moved to their own rooms, they were all awake. On Monday all three patients were released and went home. Now tell me Jesus Christ isn't real and there are no such tings as miracles. Because I will tell you to get on a plane, go to Iquitos, Peru and I'll personally introduce you to three people who know otherwise.

Hey that's only one true story I know. I've got lots more.
