Chapter 1 + introduction

Posted on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 05:30PM.

This is my feeble introduction to all of God's words that I have collected and written down. It is not my words, remember, I do nothing on my own. If you have doubts about anything you read in here though, pray about it. God will show you the truth. Knock, Seek, Find.
Reading just one chapter daily, or reading the whole book in one night, or spastically turning pages just to get your "God time" over with, I only pray that God anoints your time with this book in your hands. That this book would draw your heart closer to His in so many ways! God wants the truth for this world! This hurting, demented world. He gave us that truth as a gift, Jesus Christ, his only son. We killed Him and STILL He wants nothing but truth and joy for us.
We are forgiven by His grace. Set free from the bondage from whence we came. We are the Redeemed and the beloved children of our Father.
Read this book with an Open heartâ prepared to receive.

Dear God, our Majesty, our Savior, Redeemer, and Friend, I pray to you to touch our lives. Touch us, sweet Jesus, through the words on the page. Let them be not my words, not my thoughts, but Your words, Your thoughts. Love abounding on each page, the Holy perfect love of Christ. We ask to receive from You today and forever, change our hearts toward eternity. Amen!

Day 1

Genesis 2:7 "the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."
We all look at Genesis and think, "In the beginning, blah blah blah." We don't necessarily care about the beginning of the world sometimes. Let's be honest here. We care far more about the beginning of our world, which is really the only world we know.
As a whole we are very selfish people. We see life through our eyes alone. For small fragments of time, maybe we think of what it would be like to be somebody else, then we decide its too complicated to even think about, and go back to our self-absorbation. Now I don't expect you or I to put ourselves in the entire world's shoes. I'm just making the pointâ we want to know about ourselves. There's nothing wrong with this, especially when it comes to spirituality, it is, in fact, a very good thing!
In Luke 10:40-42, Martha was distracted serving her guests. Certain people reading this, I'm sure you understand. Fluttering around cleaning up after everyone and literally sweating beads, while your kids or spouse or friends or other family simply sit there actually enjoying themselves!
God wants you to enjoy life like a dinner party! Mary was sitting there, "selfishly" absorbing Christ's words, gaining spiritual understanding, while Martha ran around, feeling too obligated towards others to listen to Jesus Himself.
God is most certainly not saying, "don't serve others" through this. He is saying, "You are my child as well! I want some time with you, baby. Don't be my soccer mom, be my true love." God wants us to soak up His words like a sponge! It's so important for us and others that we do this! If we want to serve others without being physically, spiritually, and emotionally exhausted, then we serve God first! His plan is ultimate and He is in control!
Do we literally think that any of us are possible of being someone's savior? God did that already, remember? Our Savior is so powerful and perfect and He literally completed the job. We don't gotta crucify ourselves for others, missing everything that counts for us! We ought to pick up our cross daily, and follow Jesus. Follow Him! He will direct our paths! He will show us when, why, how, where.
Back to Genesis, God created you. You!
Okay, let me get off track here a bit and take you to a puffy little cloud up in the sky. Jesus is sitting on it, with... you see something in His hands?
You get closer, and you start to realize he's cradling something in his arms. This thing looks mutilated and disgusting, like a wet lump of clay. A deformed child of His.
You stare for hours.. and hours... and hours. You sit here watching this mighty Savior carving a blob of what's-it for no apparent reason. He tilts His head one way, then the other. Finally, it's complete!
You come a little closer, then shock overwhelms your body.
It's you.
Jesus is sitting there, staring at that imperfect looking clay child. You can see the absolute adoration in His eyes. The look of such love. Love, hope, beauty. Jesus, our King, sits there on that cloud, captivated by you.

..... God created us all for a reason. God hand-carved each of us, imperfect we may be.
God is saying: Do not neglect yourself, cause I am in love with you.
If we want our lives to mean something, if we want to help others, if we want to be "Godly", then we should spend time with God! He is the Helper. He is your true love.
No matter who you are, where you are, what you are, God is in love with you, and willing to walk with you through this pain.
