Our Five Main Purposes in Life According to God:
Deuteronomy 6:5, 10:12, 11:13, 11:22, 13:3, 19:9, 30:6, 30:16, 30:20, Exodus 20:3-6. Joshua 22:5, Matthew 22:37 and Mark 12:30
ONE - Love God
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Matthew 22:39, Mark 12:31, Romans 12:9, 13:8, 1 Corinthians 13:1-3, Ephesians 5:2, Colossians 1:8, Phillipians 2:3, John 15:12-13, 1 John 3:16, 1 Peter 1:22.
TWO - Love Others
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:36-40
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
1 Corithians 13:13
There are three things that will endure-faith, hope, and love-and the greatest of these is love.
THREE - Become More Like Jesus Christ
I Peter 2:21, Galatians 2:20, Romans 12:1, John 13:15, Ephesians 4:15, Ephesians 5:2, 1 Corinthians 11:1, 1 John 2:6, Mark 8:35, John 10:27, Romans 8:29
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
FOUR - Witness - Share Your Faith
Acts 1:8, Acts 8:4, Acts 11:15, Acts 14:21, Acts 20:24, Romans 1:16, Romans 10:15, Galatians 2:7, Ephesians 3:7, Colossians 1:6, 1 Thessalonians 2:2, 2 Timothy 1:8, Matthew 24:14, Mark 8:35, Mark 13:10, Mark 16:15, Revelation 14:6.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.âÂÂ
And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.
So you must never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord.
FIVE - Serve Others
Matthew 20:26-28, Matthew 23:11, Matthew 25:21, Mark 9:35, Mark 10:43-45, Luke 22:26, Romans 15:8, 1 Corinthians 9:19, Galatians 1:10, John 13:4-15, 1 Corinthians 12.
For even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many."
But among you it should be quite different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant,
The greatest among you must be a servant.
The master was full of praise. `Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!'
He sat down and called the twelve disciples over to him. Then he said, "Anyone who wants to be the first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else."
Remember that Christ came as a servant
.
Jhn 13:4 So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist,
Jhn 13:5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel he had around him.
Jhn 13:6 When he came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, "Lord, why are you going to wash my feet?"
Jhn 13:7 Jesus replied, "You don't understand now why I am doing it; someday you will."
Jhn 13:8 "No," Peter protested, "you will never wash my feet!" Jesus replied, "But if I don't wash you, you won't belong to me."
Jhn 13:9 Simon Peter exclaimed, "Then wash my hands and head as well, Lord, not just my feet!"
Jhn 13:10 Jesus replied, "A person who has bathed all over does not need to wash, except for the feet,[fn2] to be entirely clean. And you are clean, but that isn't true of everyone here."
Jhn 13:11 For Jesus knew who would betray him. That is what he meant when he said, "Not all of you are clean."
Jhn 13:12 After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, "Do you understand what I was doing?
Jhn 13:13 You call me `Teacher' and `Lord,' and you are right, because it is true.
Jhn 13:14 And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet.
Jhn 13:15 I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.
1Cr 12:4 Now there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all.
1Cr 12:5 There are different kinds of service in the church, but it is the same Lord we are serving.
1Cr 12:6 There are different ways God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work through all of us.
1Cr 12:7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church.
The Great Commandment, The Great Commission, The Golden Rule, Servant, Christ-Likeness
How have you made a difference today?
First, I love GodTube.
Did you read the Election 2008 Question - Which Issue is Most Important to You?
I looked at the list and said to myself, it is not on the list. How could the most important issue not be on the list?
So do you say, well if The Economy isn't the most important issue when we are facing a possible recession, what is?
Second, I'm a Business Administration Major with a Concentration in Finance. I worked for Banks 20 of my 25 years.
I suggest the most important issue is Moral Issues and returning to being a Christian Nation.
So who ultimately decides what should be on the list and what should be number one? Politicians? GodTube? Media? Majority of Americans?
Many would say we have the best Nation in the World and they would be right. It is a Democracy! The Majority Rules!!! So it is the Majority who is right and decides these things?!? Ok then, let's go with that, so the Majority of Americans decide everything and a democracy is the best thing going, right? Let the People Decide! We know what is best for our country, and if we don't then the Supreme Court does for sure, right? The President? Congress? What about God?
I would encourage you to read all of 1 Samuel Chapter 8 in The Bible.
Here is an excerpt:
1Samuel 8:6-8
But when they said, Give us a king to lead us, this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord.
And the Lord told him: Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.
As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.
Now let me ask you who lead the Israelite People up until the People demanded a King?
The God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob!
And a Democracy is NOT the best rule of the People, it is a Theocracy, ruled by that same God!
But God gives us a choice, to Love Him or Reject Him! We have free will, so we've let the Majority decide or the Supreme Court Judges Decide and so we as a Country, we the People have:
Taken God and Prayer Out of Schools
Legalized Abortion
Struck Down Sodomy Laws and Embrace Same S E X Marriage
Legalized Prostitution in Nevada
Pornography everywhere
What Movies do we Vote for with our dollars?
Divorce is Rampant even Among Christians
Legalized Gambling, Lottery, Indian Casinos, River Boat Casinos, Nevada
Truth is Relative
Christian Beliefs have no Place in Politics or the way we rule our Nation
And what have so many made their GOD? Let's tell the Truth Here! Let's be Honest! What comes first:
Abortion, Sodomy, Same S E X Marriage, Divorce, Pornography, Prostitution, Rape, Incest
Well S E X has to be One God!
Gambling, Divorce, The Economy, Small Percentage of Christians, NOT to Mention American's give. We are the Richest Nation by Far and we GIVE so little. Not even 10% of Christians Tithe 10% of their Income.
Well MONEY has to be One God!
And so it is! Which issue is MOST IMPORTANT to YOU?
THE ECONOMY - EVEN ON A CHRISTIAN WEBSITE - AND MORAL ISSUES/CHRISTIAN NATION/GOD don't even make the LIST!
2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Ecclesiastes 5:10 Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless.
Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
Luke 8:14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.
Mat 13:22 The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.
1Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is at the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
Proverbs 18:11 The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it an unscalable wall.
Matthew 19:20 - 24 (The Rich Young Ruler) All these I have kept, the young man said. What do I still lack Jesus answered, If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me. When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
Malachi 3:8 - 12 Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, How do we rob you? In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse, the whole nation of you, because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit, says the Lord Almighty. Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land, says the Lord Almighty.
Proverbs 13:11 Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows
James 5:1-5 Look here, you rich people, weep and groan with anguish because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you. Your wealth is rotting away, and your fine clothes are moth-eaten rags. Your gold and silver have become worthless. The very wealth you were counting on will eat away your flesh in hell. This treasure you have accumulated will stand as evidence against you on the day of judgment. For listen! Hear the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay. The wages you held back cry out against you. The cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have spent your years on earth in luxury, satisfying your every whim. Now your hearts are nice and fat, ready for the slaughter.
Luke 12:21 "This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God".
1Timothy 3:3 He must not be a heavy drinker or be violent. He must be gentle, peace loving, and not one who loves money.
1Timothy 3:8 In the same way, deacons must be people who are respected and have integrity. They must not be heavy drinkers and must not be greedy for money.
1Timothy 6:17-18 Tell those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which will soon be gone. But their trust should be in the living God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give generously to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them.
2 Timothy 3:2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.
Titus 1:7 An elder must live a blameless life because he is God's minister. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered; he must not be a heavy drinker, violent, or greedy for money.
Hebrews 13:5 Stay away from the love of money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, "I will never fail you. I will never forsake you."*
1John 3:17 But if anyone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need and refuses to help--how can God's love be in that person?
THE ECONOMY???? - NEARLY 50% - MORALITY/LOVE OF GOD - Not on the LIST
