Dormant Faith? What do you do?

Dormant Faith? What do you do?

Have you ever reached that point in your faith where you feel like you are living for God and you are not majorly sinning, yet your faith seems almost dormant, stuck at the same spot. Like even though you read your bible every night, even though you pray to God, you feel like sometimes you are just "going through the motions". Then there are other times when you feel like you are tight with God and you are just so on fire you don't know why you were ever dormant. Then, a couple weeks later you're just living life again; Occasionally thinking about God but not really spending your whole day thanking Him and just constantly praying to Him. It is a frustrating rut that I find I sometimes fall into. What have you found as the best way to get out of this and get closer in your relationship to Him? What are your thoughts on this?

I totally know how you feel... when this happens I try to dig into Scripture or spend some time alone, trying to hear his voice. Sometimes I play worship songs and if I really let go and me worship with my whole heart it makes me feel closer to God.
I pray a lot too, like I spend a significant amount of time with God and that helps.
I think everybody goes through this... but that tells you something about yourself- that you really ARE seeking after Christ :)
