What a day! I went to work at 6:30 this morning and expecting a truck to load. When I checked my phone messages, I found myself behind with more stuff to do. I went to work on finding the parts I needed for my customer. So far no truck, so I got the parts off. It was getting close to 8 and still no truck. I was beginning to think I was being lied to.
We never did get the truck we were expecting. However, we made some phone calls and got other trucks. So everything worked out.
I asked God that I wanted a song in my heart. The kind of song that makes me happy no matter what happens around me. I know that to get that kind of song, I must praise and pray. Seek Him more!!
I had that song once. Some people thought that I was doing drugs, because I was so happy all the time. Me sweet Jesus, my heart was so soft then. You were has a river flowing through me. It was so wonderful!!
Someday, I'll get that back!!
Example from scripture... Do you think that Paul and Silas were happy when they were beaten and thrown into a Roman prison?? I doubt that this caused happiness in their heart.
Act 16:19 And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew [them] into the marketplace unto the rulers,
Act 16:20 And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,
Act 16:21 And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.
Act 16:22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat [them].
Act 16:23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast [them] into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
Act 16:24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
Joy is different in that it trancends your circumstances. Joy comes when you know and trust that God will indeed work ALL things to tegeather for your good and His Glory. That is the how and the why that enabled Paul and Silas to do this here...
Act 16:25 ¶ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
So did the jailer...and according to scripture, he and his whole house was saved. WOW, that is so encouraging.
I misplaced my joy for a couple of years...got caught up in the cares of this world, making a living ect..ect. I neglected my realationship with Christ Jesus and I slowly became a most miserable person inside....nothing made me happy anymore. But God, is faithful. I remember travelling to Calif. to go see my sister and on the radio listening to a teaching about Rev. 2:4....here it is in context.
Rev 2:1 ¶ Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
Rev 2:2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
Rev 2:3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have [somewhat] against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
The Holy Spirit totally convicted me...I had indeed left my FIRST love and sought my own way. I repented that day and set it in my heart that I would seek His face EVERY SINGLE DAY. Every morning when you wake up, before you even roll out of your bed, take those moments at the very least and given them to God...thank Him for the day ahead, rejoice in who He is and what He has done in your life Grabme777. Ask Him to renew in your heart a right spirit that is pleasing to Him. End your day in Thanksgiving and praise for who He is and all that He has done. Let your heart sing out praises unto your redeemer that your JOY might be full.
God's blessings and grace to you dear brother. Sorry for the l o n g post...just wanted to encourage you in our Lord Jesus Christ, and remind you of who you are in HIM.
In His Grace, dusty
