:These are the beginnings of sorrows.
Posted at 03:14 PM on October 18, 2008 by FREELYFORGIVEN

As I see the world around us in a frantic uproar. I am reminded of the many warnings given in the word of God. Many of us are guilty of reading the warnings and somehow passing over or thinking it does not apply to us. If we as followers of Christ believe the bible as inspired word. Why are we so suprised at what is happening around us at this time. Read More »

image ....Wow!...You cannot learn witchcraft from a show about witches???(Its hard to see the forest for the trees it seems)...Ok, lets say this is true...At the very least the show sparks the interest in the subject and some may look deeper into witchraft as a result. There are many subtle tricks used by satan......................About the scripture....are you comparing the symbol to the ark or the temple?...and in numbers...The serpents were sent by God because of the actions of the people(read it again)...The people went to Moses ......The serpent did not reprsent God......There is a lesson to the story....Please get your facts in order...

image Dear brother, looks like you got ambushed by the verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry young Nun2b...sometimes it's just nice to let people hang themselves with their own words, however studious they may be, and their super arrogance...I may be pushy or tough but this young woman is going to be a handful for any mother superior to handle..unless she has dibbs on the position already...humbleness is not one of her attributes...I should have asked her what order was going to be so "fortunate" to have her as a humble servant. I should be your friend in Christ...Linda

image Catholic or Protestant neither is "the Way" Jesus is the way and no matter which church you go to or even if you go to church if you " believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you shall be saved" It is Jesus + nothing and - nothing that puts us in a right standing before the father, not ordinances or sacraments but Jesus ALONE! Without faith in Him we can do no good works, not even the good work of repentance, it is faith in Christ that even allows us to repent of our sins, but faith that saves not repentance or good works, but faith the leads to repentance unto good works. If you ask me both "Churches" have %!$@s in their armor.

image The mother of all denoinations? That gives a whole new meaning to"Mystery Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth". As spoken of in Rev.17........If you take time to listen to yourself. You are taking the inspired word of God and claiming it????The priest is your medium.I dont use a medium.Thats scary. Its kind of neat to hear you decribe your priest as a medium and confirms a few things. You are making it more complicated than it has to be...As result taking away from time better spent. like reading your bible(putting on the whole armor of God).

image You know, the Catholic Church is the Mother of all denominations [though entirely different from protestantism], after all, she was only founded by Christ. The Bible is a Catholic Document, it is fact. The regional or local Catholic Church Councils of Hippo, 393 A.D., and Carthage, 397 A.D., and later, Carthage 419 A.D. gave us the canon of Sacred Scripture as we know it today. Although these were just local councils, Saint Augustine did insist that the list given by these councils be sent to Rome for approval. Pope Saint Siricius (384-399 A.D.) approved the canon just as his papal predecessor Pope Damasus I had done in a Synod in 382 A.D. with a formal writing "Decretal of Gelasius", de recipiendis et non recipiendis libris. (The archeological findings and analysis pertaining to the Council of Rome 382 A.D. and some of the Popes may not be a settled fact.) A friend of Saint Jerome, Saint Exuperius of Toulouse, a Gallican bishop, wrote to Pope Innocent I in a formal letter requesting the list of canonical books. The Pope replied in February of 405 A.D. with a letter (Consulenti Tibi) confirming and reaffirming the canon given at Hippo and Carthage. The Ecumenical Council of Florence again affirmed the list of inspired books in 1442 A.D., about 100 years before the Council of Trent. The "Decretum pro Jacobitis" by Pope Eugenius IV lists the inspired books, and according to the common teaching of theologians, these documents are infallible states of doctrine. Since there was no urgent challenge or compelling reason why it should, the Ecumenical Council of Florence did not dogmatically pass on the canonicity of the inspired books...I am a Catholic Apologist and Catechist, so I might actually know what I am talking about, not whether or not I am smarter than you [that is far too juvenile for my standards]. Also, why would that Church be happy with Luther? After all, he only felt the need to jettison a few books of the Bible to support his own personal doctrine, that and we know that deep down inside that he only rejected the papacy because he himself wanted to be pope...did I forget to mention that I am a Religious studies major...I might have come across Protestantism. Just t clear a common misconception up, Catholics do not confuse their sins to a priest, they confess their sins to God...a priest is simply a medium by which the confessing is done. So, I take it that you are one of those who claims that you only need [that is a very protestant phrase] to confess your sins strait to God, why? Also, what do you know about the Catholic Mass?...I want details....because apparently you are convince that Catholics can only proclaim that Christ is Lord and Saviour through the Mass....you are so very wrong....also, what is the Biblical basis for Sola Scriptura?...Where in the Bible does it precisely state, "read the Bible"?...You seem very minimal, "we don't need to do this or that"...it sounds as if you are trying to complete some sort of minimal requirements check list...but, you do realize that by your minimalism, you are only making the Church sound as if she does more....

image We as followers of Christ do not need mass to profess that he is our savior. We do not need an advocate to speak to the advocate.Jesus is our advocate. You see the vail was taken away.We no longer need the preist to give our confession or ask forgiveness.........It sounds like you are calling the catholic church the mother of all denominations.............It is my understanding the catholic church was none to happy about Luther. You are being very misleading by calling the Bible a catholic document and saying the church gave Luther authority. They had no choice.Im not sure if you are giving misinformation on purpose or its all you have learned thus far in your calling.I sesne you see yourself smarter or more wise...........At this time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.(Matthew 11:25)

image Catholics are not Christ-less...I mean, we only publicly profess that Christ is our personal Lord and Saviour every Sunday [well, for some, everyday depending on whether or not they go to Daily Mass]...what you don't understand, is that it was not man who created the concept of the Pope, but Christ Himself. He explicitly told Peter that he would build the Church upon Peter ["you are Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church"...now this was originally in Greek, and what people fail to see is that Peter and rock are both the same word in Greek---Cephas---so it should read, "you are cephas and upon this cephas, I will build my Church" or "you are rock and upon this rock I will build my Church"] and it is Peter who is given the Keys which is the ultimate symbol of authority...it is only Biblical that Peter is the first Pope [hmm, I doubt thaat you would know the origins of the word Pope so...basically it is a derivative of the term Father in Greek...so, Peter was thee [human] Father of the Church, and every pope since has served as successor and the head of the Church here on earth...Christ is the ultimate head of the Church]...so, if Christ instituted the papacy and the Catholic Church [I should probably go over the term Catholic also...Catholic just means Universal...hence Universal Church...the term was not used until later, but every Christian from the institution of the Church by Christ up onto the Protestant Reformation is considered to be Catholic] then why are you not Catholic? Also, if the Catholic Church is not the true church then how come it took 1500+ years for the true church to suddenly pop up out of nowhere, not to mention spurt out thousands upon thousands of different denominations in the process? Was the Holy Spirit confused? Also, why to non-CAtholic put all of their faith into a Catholic document [aka the Bible]? I mean, it was by the grace of the Holy Spirit that Catholic compiled the canon to the Bible which you know today? Also, who gave Luther the authority to begin the process of jettisoning the deutero-canonical texts? Again, was the Holy Spirit confused?....

image Vicar-One serving as a substitute....why have a substitute when we have christ? No throne?? I guess we could call it a really big chair.

Nun2Be Dec 02, 2007
image The pope, according tot he Catholic Faith, is the vicar of Christ, the successor of St. Peter, chosen by the Holy Spirit. That does not mean he is Christ nor is he "king" of the Catholic Church...he is only a man, and he doesn't own a throne so I don't know how he could be placed on one...

image yes it is an old card...In my memory, no I have not called my dad, father.......Luke 16:24.....the rich man was in hell not on earth..Romans 4:1-18,James 2, and Acts 7..It sounds like your comparing the pope to Abraham....God forbid...In any case it is sad to see people so decieved into putting a man on a throne singing praises to him...you are correct about one thing: I do need to read my bible more...Thanks for the verses

Nun2Be Dec 02, 2007
image You know the "father" card is pretty old if you ask me...first I bet you have called you father, father...now that's not good enough, how about I throw in some scripture...Luke 16:24, Jesus calls Abraham "father Abraham"....Romans 4: 1-18, St. Paul calls Abraham "father Abraham" seven times...Acts 7: 1-2, "Men, brethren, fathers..."....James 2:21, yet again, "father Abraham"...1 John 2: 13, Elders are referred to as fathers...last I checked the Bible doesn't contradict itself....so what does "call NO man father" really mean?....I think you need to work up on your Bible skills....

It's totally fine, I know you don't hate her... just its not helping sending her scripture, right now i think prayer is the best thing... God Bless!!! ~LIa~

image I never told you what you need to do....I did call you depresso. In hindsight that was speaking before I thought .I never claimed to be holy. If I were holy. Christ would have never had to hang on a cross. You say "wrap me in your love".It would have had the same outcome. Stop with the "pushing scriptures".I posted (1) one scripture. Im not sure thats even the problem you have with me....Its hard to be happy in the world. That part I get. Going on a personal attack over a verse.Thats ???????????????????????
