Tale of Two Pebbles



Many years ago in a small Indian village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer's beautiful daughter. So he proposed a bargain. He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his daughter.



Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the proposal. So the cunning moneylender suggested that they let providence decide the matter. He told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag.



1) If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her

father's debt would be forgiven.



2) If she picked the white pebble, she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven.

    I am a child of God who is stronger than she thinks, more loved than she realises, and more blessed than she ever imagined.     My sissy gave me the nickname. She says I remind her of the character Ellie, a mammoth who thinks she is a possum from "Ice Age 2" I wondered why, and well I think this comment explains it all.

    Mostly arts and crafty stuff. Crocheting, making quillows (a cross between a quilt and a pillow. They are quite cool), I like to play the guitar. I write poetry, and just recently wrote my first song. I like buying stuff for my peeps. I like the look on peoples faces when they get a fun or quirky gift, something that means something, you know?

    Shows: I like Wife Swap, Super Nanny, Law and Order, CSI, that kind of stuff. Haven't really found a good comedy in awhile.

    Movies: I like all kinds, but romantic comedy is my fav. My faves movies right now include My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Connie and Carla, Mama Mia, Penelopy, Facing the Giants, and Martian Child. Classic favs are Pollyanna and Charlotte's Web, the origional. I like Ice Age II also. It has Ellie, the mammoth who thinks she is a possom. Hee Hee

    I love all kinds of music. Music creates an atmosphere for me, so it depends on my mood as to what music I want to hear. Some of my faves inclued Michael Larson, Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton, Hilary Duff, Miley Cyrus and I love listening to Galic Music.

    With my eyesite the way it is, I'm not much of a reader these days. But I like mysteries and kid's books. I love the Bible too, because it has it all. Mystery, romance, gore, poetry, you name it. It's got something for everyone. Pretty cool, I think.
