Through Christ and faith in His atoning sacrifice, all men may be forgiven, or saved from their sins but to recieve eternal life, one must live according to His gospel by obeying His commandments. The works of the law (meaning the law of Moses) are no longer necessary. Christ fulfilled that law but He continued to teach the necessity of the 10 commandments and living the new commandments that He taught. Essentially, the law of Moses was replaced with the law of Christ. Many in Biblical times had a hard time transitioning from this and thus the comments by Paul regarding the works of the law (of Moses). As James said, "though a man say he have faith and not works can faith save him?...Faith without works is dead" You cannot separate faith from works. As Paul said, "though I have all faith ... and have not charity, I am nothing."

In Genesis 3:5, Satan tells Eve that they could become as gods - to know good and evil. In Genesis 3:22, God said that they had become as Him - to know good and evil. Satan only lied about them not dying because they immediately became mortal. According to Psalm 82:6 and John 10:34-35, we ARE gods. Not to say that we currently have the same glory and power that God the Father has but that we are the same species, we are His children and yes, we have the potential to become as He is!! 1 John 3:2 , Romans 8:16-17, Philippians 2:5-9. To say that Satan can appear as an angel of light means that there are angels of light that are real. Acts 12:7 "And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined" What if everyone assumed that every angel of light was Satan? We'd be in a heap of trouble. So then I ask you, if you saw Satan appearing as an angel of light would you know the difference between him and a real angel of light? Inverted pentagrams were adopted by Satanist but they were a Jewish and Christian symbol long before this occured. Likewise, the cross was a pagan symbol before it was adopted by Christians. It is still used by other cultures. Symbols hold multiple meanings depending on who uses them.
