Another Joyus Day
Posted at 04:02 PM on August 20, 2008 by BrotherJames
Well its another day in my home(my bed), I am having a good time uploading some new pictures. I might get to go to Walmart later, which is like going on a trip for me as I rarely get to go anywhere except the hospital or church. I love my church( I have been going there for almost 40yrs. I do not get to go very much, I am just too sick. Today my sweet wife is trying to get our daughter set up to start at a university online,a lot of forms.I am listening to hyms and "I need thee every hour" so very much. The Lord is my gracious Savior and without him my life would not be bearable. My days consist of mostly bedridden watching tv and on Godtube, but with humor and love from my family I am fine. I could be worse and thank God I am not. May God Bless and Keep you.May you let God shine through you each and everyday.

| About Me: | In 1981 I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease and told I had 5yrs to live. It has been a long struggle,8yrs ago I became 100% disabled and now spend most of my time in bed. I have a wonderful wife who loves me greatly we make lemonade out of lemons. I am only able to go out to the hosp. and church. I am still in the same church I grew up in,some 40yrs ago. I have had some really close calls over the yrs, but 2yrs ago I had just came home from a hospital stay. I came home on a Saturday and by Monday I was not feeling well, I remember bits and pieces of what happened. My wife keep asking me questions and I could not answer nor did I know who she was. The rest was a blur, ambulance siren, someone saying we have to get him to the closest hosp. now. I was lying on a gurney with about 25 people in Air Force uniforms around me, I couldn't breathe. A tube was already into my nose for feeding, so the put another through for breathing. I had IV's in my arms and legs and a central line in my chest also, then a voice to my right said I'm sorry James but we are going to have to put a tube into your bladder. I have had all kind of things and tests run on me before, if you have heard of it I have had it done to me, and I knew this was very painful. I was startled by the voice which was the most caring loving voice I have ever heard, amidst the chaos I felt such peace and comfort. I have never felt this way before, such peace, such overflowing warmness. The next thing I remember was my sister in law two inches from my face yelling "Did you see the angels,Did you see them all around you?". I saw my wife sitting at the foot of my bed, and knew this was a good sign. My wife and her sister are identical twins and always end up unintentionally wearing the same outfits. Since I knew who was who I felt better, then they told me I had been in a coma for 4 days. Turns out my kidneys and lung and brain had shut down. I had gotten a potassium level of 9.1, above 7 is considered deadly. I had dialysis while out along with other life saving medicines, I had to stay another four days to get stable enough to go home, when I was being discharged the ER doctor came in saying he wanted to meet the "Miracle Man" again before I left. He said that in his 30yrs of medicine he had never heard of anyone dead much less alive who had ever had such a high level of potassium. I know the voice next to me was Our Lord Jesus and he kept me safe. Though my vessel is broken, God shines through the cracks. May Jesus give you peace and strength |
