Why Go To Church? A Churchgoer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. 'I've gone for 30 years now,' he wrote, 'and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all.' This started a real controversy in the 'Letters to the Editor' column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher: 'I've been married for 37 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals, But I do know this... They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!' When you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment! All right, now that you're done reading, send it on! I think everyone should read this! 'When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, 'Jesus, could you get that for me?'

I've been a Christian for twelve years, and it certainly has not been all glitter. There have been many ups and downs, from which I have learn't so much about life and how God wants to affect the world through me, or at least my part of the world. We all have a destiny in God, but I found Jesus is my teacher, I just need to be willing to learn. He has taken the weakest part of me to use for his glory. I failed english when I was going to school, I read my first novel at age 29. Save when I was 36. Now he's teaching me to write a book; his book. <br /><br />

My spiritual gift is interpreting dreams, and the last book of the Bible is a dream and vision leading upto the second coming. Are we ready? Will I ever finish? Every time I scream for help, thinking I'll get a ghost writer to assist me, he teach's me a new skill; I'm still at a loss without spell check, and I've got 500 pages to construct. <br /><br />

    I'm an Assembly of God Churchy. I have lived in South Australia for 43 of my 48 years and the youngest boy in a family of nine children.
    I have been blessed to watch all my older syblings make the mistakes, while I try and learn from them. I still made many mistakes of my own as well, but it has taught me to step back and anylise things before I jump in. I'm also the kind of person who loves to fix things, be they people or objects. I have done a few courses but life has taught me more than I've learnt at school. Doing things the wrong way has taught me what not to do, but most of all, how to deal with and overcome major problems.
