I first understood and embraced the grace of God on January 10, 1979. I was in my 20s and just climbing out of a life lived in the 70s where just about anything was OK....drugs, alcohol, immorality, exploration of the world's religions and philosophies. This is where the 'New Age' really got its start. I was there and embraced it to the detriment of my soul. I was looking for the promise of freedom and acceptance, following the God Code within me, I wanted to increase, to soar, to live life to its fullest but believing Satan's lies on how to attain those things filled my soul with the fruits of iniquity instead. When Jesus Christ first revealed himself to me as the son of God I knew I had found what I was looking for. I repented and believed on the son of God and never looked back. After reading the book of Acts I asked God for the baptism in the Holy Spirit with evidence of tongues and received it. No man laid hands on me or prayed with me. I began to seek him and to seek out other christians and joined a church. I thought that everyone who was a christian was of the same mind but found out that wasn't so. There were many diverse ideas within the church about how to know God and about what it meant to serve God and what spiritual leadership and government was. After I met a true apostle of Jesus Christ, I came to understand what it meant to serve God within the boundaries of the covenant of Jesus Christ and learned how pure and perfect faith is really easy to have. I learned how to live a lifestyle of faith not by will worship, but through embracing the commandments of the covenant of Jesus Christ who brought a new and better law, that of grace and truth. Knowing how to serve God by the doctrine of Christ and not the doctrines of men has brought regeneration and healing to my soul that is permanent. That is what I want to share with others...how to find this one true and functional pattern for faith that is Jesus Christ himself.
I would liken serving God in covenant versus traditional christian religion to driving a high-tech, fully equipped, multi-purpose vehicle to driving an early Ford model T. God has provided everything we need in Christ but one must receive his government (starting with apostles, then prophets, pastors, evangelists, and teachers), his Truth, and his Spirit.
